Activities and courses

You can try a huge range of activities and sports in our centres, from sports and fitness to getting creative. Use our service finder to find out what’s near you, and book a free taster session at your local centre.


We offer a range of activities and courses, such as those listed below.

Getting creative

You can try different arts and crafts, such as drawing, glass painting, needlecraft and making cards or decorations.

Cooking and baking

From social lunch and dinner clubs where you cook and eat as a group, to creating beautiful cake decorations using sugar craft, we’ve got a huge range of food classes.

Drama, dance and music

You can try storytelling and acting, get on the dance floor, learn to play different musical instruments or sing individually or as a group.

Sports and fitness

Go swimming or to the gym, or take one of our many sports and fitness classes, including Wii Fit, armchair exercises, dance fit and Tai Chi.

Independent living

Learn skills to live independently, such as managing your money, doing jobs around the house and travelling by yourself.

Light learning

You can improve your literacy, numeracy or IT skills with one of our short courses.

Work skills and volunteering

Develop your work skills, get some work experience in a real work environment or find out how you can get a volunteering role.

Garden and home

Learn how to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers, look after a garden and harvest produce. You can join sessions in the garden or at an allotment nearby.
