We are delighted to once again team up with a group of local solicitors for our popular Wills campaign. The generous solicitors have again donated their time and services in support of our work with disabled people and their families.
The campaign will run from Monday 13th March to Friday 24th March and they will be offering a will service without charging their usual fees. Instead of paying the solicitor’s fee you will instead be invited to make a donation to Papworth Trust. So not only will you have a professionally written Will and peace of mind, but you will also have made a great difference to the work we do. The suggested donation is £95 for a single basic Will or £150 for a pair of basic mirror Wills. All proceeds will go directly to Papworth Trust and support its work with disabled people and their families.
Below is a list of solicitors kindly participating in our Wills campaign. To arrange an appointment to write your Will please contact your preferred solicitor using the details listed below (they are arranged alphabetically by location):
Please note: Availability for appointments will be dependent on each individual practice and, therefore, we cannot guarantee you an appointment with your preferred solicitor.
What do I need to do next?
Your solicitor will help to guide you through the process but here is a simple overview:
1. Get everything ready for your appointment Note down all your assets, such as property, possessions and money, and make a list of all the people and organisations you would like to leave things to. We understand that you will want to make sure that your loved ones are taken care of but please also consider leaving a gift in your Will to causes or charities that are close to your heart. Leaving a gift to Papworth Trust makes a massive difference to the work we do and our vision of a world where disabled people are seen for what they can do.
2. Meet your solicitor Your solicitor will ask what your wishes are so that they can help you draft your Will. They will advise you of anything else you might need to take into consideration and make sure that everything is valid and legal. This scheme covers a basic Will (or a pair of mirror wills); if you require a more complex Will you can discuss your requirements with the solicitor and they will advise you of any additional work and costs involved. In these instances, any additional costs will be payable directly to the solicitors.
3. Make your donation When your solicitor takes your instructions they will invite you to make a donation to Papworth Trust. The suggested voluntary donation is £95 for a single basic Will or £150 for a pair of basic mirror Wills. This can be made by cheque payable to ‘Papworth Trust’. If you wish to donate directly to Papworth Trust by debit or credit card then please contact us on 01480 357206.
