Workshop Provider - Music, Dance, Art, Performance or Gardening

Papworth Trust’s centres in Ipswich offer disabled adults the opportunity to try a range of activities in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Foundation Street, Ipswich
Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 3:30pm, flexible to suit volunteer
Agreed in advance, expenses reimbursed

At our Foundation Street centre we offer a programme of stimulating sessions including arts and crafts, music, gardening, woodwork, drama and many more. Our clients also enjoy a variety of activities in and around the town, including swimming, bowling and coffee groups.

We would love to increase the range of activities we can offer to disabled people and as a result we are seeking individuals who could share their particular hobby, skill, talent or interest with a group of our customers.

We are looking for a volunteer who could run a one off 1-3 hour session in any of the following:

  • Music or Dance workshop

  • Circus skills

  • Art (e.g. portrait painting, outdoor art etc)

  • Gardening (e.g. willow weaving)


  • In conjunction with our staff team design an activity to suit our customers abilities.

  • Share your skills with others.

  • Be enthusiastic about what interests you and encourage others to get as much enjoyment from an activity as you do.

  • Encourage people to try new things.

Skills, Qualities and Qualifications:

  • Skill in one of the activities listed above.

  • Willingness to transmit your knowledge to our disabled customers

  • Ability to tailor an activity to suit our clients needs

  • Enthusiasm

  • An encouaring nature

  • Patience

  • Good communication skills

  • Some disability awareness would be desirable but not essential.
