Papworth Trust Work and Health Programme

The Work and Health Programme is a Welfare to Work programme commissioned by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). It is designed to improve employment outcomes for people with health conditions or disabilities.

This programme is co-financed by the European Social Fund.
Whether it is helping to find suitable employment or indeed helping disabled people take their first steps towards job-seeking, work remains a key priority for Papworth Trust.

So we were delighted to secure a partnership with the Shaw Trust to deliver the Work and Health Programme in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

Over the next five years, and possibly beyond, we will be working with around 500 people to help them into employment through a personalised programme to address any issues that might be preventing individuals from returning, entering and retaining work.

The programme will also be looking at volunteering and work experience opportunities to help individuals ultimately secure employment.

The Work Programme is crucial in supporting people into employment, to secure a better future for both themselves and their families.

It also supports people into volunteering, work experience, training and health and wellbeing to help people move forward with their next step of the journey.
